Last night the farmer surprised me by taking me on a date! To many, a date isn’t something new or exciting in your relationship. To those of you who are with a farmer, you know this is a big deal. So while we were on our way to the movies, I got to thinking. I realized that I didn’t need a date with my farmer to realize how much he loves me. I didn’t need him to buy me flowers, shower me with jewelry, or give me everything I desired. As a farmer, he has so many things that other men don’t have. I instantly started to smile and realized that I am one lucky girl.

You see, farmer’s have something that other people don’t have. It’s not something that is easy to explain, but something easily felt. They don’t even have to be looking at you or talking to you to feel it. It’s that moment where they drop everything to help a dying animal. It’s that moment when you bring them lunch in the field and their face lights up when they see you. It’s that moment when they are helping you with your latest Pinterest craft. Everything a farmer does is with their whole heart and a smile on their face. You’re their princess, their most prized cow, and they love to see you happy.

Farmer’s have the most passionate and relieving hugs around. They put every bit of love and emotion into that hug to make you feel better. Who needs jewelry when you can have a Farmer’s Hug? It never breaks.

Farmer’s have a natural instinct for care and support. Whenever you’re having an awful day, they can see it on your face—even through a smile. They know what makes you feel better and they do everything they can to help you. At the time you don’t realize it, but he is holding your hand and buying you the world. He gives you something you can’t buy or even know how to ask for. He is putting that smile back on your face and taking you back to the woman you love to be.

Farmers make you feel young for forever. There is never a slow day or a day that doesn’t have excitement. You don’t need to go on a date to have fun or laugh until you cry. Your farmer is all that you need. He can be mad as ever, but still make you laugh. You may need to hide your laughter while he’s cursing the tractor, but even then he can make you smile. If you’re ever feeling the need for excitement, go let the cows out–see what happens! 🙂

Farmer’s hands hold the most love possible. They are hands that have worked the land, brought life into the world, built your home and family, and they are the most callused hands you will ever see. It doesn’t matter. They are always warm, always there, and always a little dirty. Whenever you just need some comfort there is always a big, strong, loving hand there to hold you.

Farmer’s eyes hold so many emotions and feelings. Looking into a farmer’s eyes shows you exactly how they feel and how much they love a person. They have a twinkle and sparkle. They can smile, laugh, and love with their eyes. It truly is a sight that melts your heart when you see it. Flowers may be nice to look at, but they can’t replace those beautiful eyes that spark every time you look his way.

A Farmer, in my opinion, is a blessing in so many ways. Without my farmer, I don’t think I could survive. I love you Farmer.
