Rain is a good thing-Luke Bryant

Okay so I tried to stay away from country songs, but I couldn’t find a good one to talk about planting corn. (If you can think of one, let me know!) Every spring, whether we want to or not, we plant enough corn to feed our animals throughout the winter months when there isn’t enough feed for them.

  • Yes rain is a good thing, but this last it was too much of a good thing. I was only able to bale 1 crop of hay this year and pastured the hay fields late in the fall. I think my first cutting was in July. We would get 2 dry days and them more rain. When I did cut the hay I cut up my new seeding a little and I noticed Dad’s hay field saw some damage killing out the alfalfa.
Also I love Luke Bryan. I saw him last February at the UNI dome in Cedar Falls. So much plaid! I have a daughter that lives there in Cedar Falls.

    • Sometimes it is too much, but some days I would rather have too much than not enough. It’s a hard trade off.
