We’ll Make Hay When the Sun Shines– Bing Crosby

This song couldn’t be anymore true. Making hay on the farm. We make big square bales, small square bales, big round bales, and small round bales that I like to call tootsie rolls. I’d post pictures of each, but I don’t have them. 🙁 . If any of you are interested, I will get them to you! There are three steps to making hay.

1.) Cut the alfalfa.

2.) Rake the alfalfa once it is dry. (crunchy grass.) Check my blog out for a video of me doing it!

3.) Baling the alfalfa into whatever size bale you choose.

Sounds easy, but trying to beat the weather and get it done before it’s wet or too dry is a trick.

I invite any of you out to spend a day on the farm in the summer to experience it. The smell of fresh hay is amazing and you will never forget it.
