Meet the Farmer

Most of you know already that I’m engaged to a wonderful man and excited to become his wife. Many of you know him as “The Farmer”. So today, I’m going to introduce you to him!

Are you ready to read about another Farmer from Iowa? I sure hope so because this Farmer is one of my favorites!

Joel

He enjoys:

  • The St. Louis Cardinals
  • International tractors
  • Angus cows
  • Golfing
  • Watching sports
  • Fishing
  • Ford trucks

The Farmer is a full time Ag Loan Officer for a local bank and he excels at his job.

The Farmer and Lily puppy are inseparable. Lily gets to ride in the back of the truck and in the tractor with him almost daily. When the Farmer is gone for business trips, Lily actually gets very sad and misses him quite a bit. She doesn’t like to eat or do much when he’s gone. He misses her a lot too. Their relationship is so cute!

He raises Angus cattle alongside his father and three other brothers. He actually has a really cool farming story. His grandfather raised purebred angus cows, his dad kept the tradition, and to this day they raise a large herd of black angus cattle. (His grandpa likes to give me a hard time about my Herefords!) The Farmer’s grandpa actually got inducted into the local county cattlemen’s hall of fame for his work as a cattle farmer! I’m sure his dad will be there soon! 🙂

When he isn’t farming or working he enjoys watching the St. Louis Cardinals, grilling us a delicious meal, playing fetch with Lily, fishing, or golfing. Most of these events are done on days it’s raining, too wet to do anything, or a late day after all the work is done.

Cool Fact about the Farmer: He likes pixie sticks.

When I asked him what he loved most about me, he simply stated, “Your passion and love for agriculture.” Well isn’t he the sweetest!!!!!!! (Plus my love of cows helps too!)

His favorite event on the farm is calving season. He says every year, “It’s so intense man!” (I like to remind him that it’s even more fun with Shorthorns and Herefords because they all come out different colors. His always just come out black!)

The Farmer has always wanted to farm and he continuously is working towards his goals. All of his free time is dedicated to the farm and helping his family. I couldn’t be more proud of the hard working, dedicated, trustworthy man I’m about to marry.

Want to know more about the Farmer? Obviously, right?? Well go ahead and ask some questions, I will have him personally answer them for you! Ask away! 🙂
