Random Life of Kellie

Kitty Cat Obsession

Meet Clark!

061He’s my prince charming and my little snuggle bug. Clark was there for me when I felt alone and without anyone. I went through some very bad depression that caused me to feel sad and hopeless most days. Clark was the one who would come lay on me and make me feel wanted. He knew when I was sad or sick—he would always just jump on the bed and lay there, not causing any harm. He just knew when I needed someone. I couldn’t have asked for a better friend and guardian angel. He helped me realize that I was needed on this earth, that there were things to live for, and most of all, who was going to feed him??

My cat obsession didn’t start with Clark though. It started a LONG time ago.

Since I was a little girl, I’ve always had cats. Not inside cats like Clarkie, but outside cats. We even had a ‘cat house’ on our farm. We had at least 10 cats at all times. And boy were those little buggers hunters! We barely had to feed them since they had so many mice to eat!

But anyway, back to where it all started. When my mom had to go out on the farm to help my dad she would bring my sister and I out with her. We were put on a blanket and told to “Stay put.” Well that wasn’t hard for me. She always put me right by the cat house and I was set to go. My barbies and kitties were best friends. My dad would get annoyed because I would make them all my pets. He had to always watch for babies under tires so he didn’t run them over. He was more worried about breaking my heart than anything. He knew that my kitties were my world. They all had names and they all needed loving by me.

My mom would be furious when she would go to get her camera film developed and to have 99% of the pictures be of farm cats. I have albums upon albums of my cats. I still have them and still know all of their names. I even found an old picture frame with a picture of my two favorite cats with a note behind it confusing my love for them.

To this day we still have cats on the farm. But, now I have a house kitty. My sister will tell you, “All Kellie has ever wanted is a house cat. She always needs a kitty in her life.” Oh and how true it is. The farmer hates cats and I mean HATES cats. He especially hates Clark, but puts up with him for me. It’s so nice to have two males in one house that love me so! 🙂

Call me a crazy cat lady–It’s a compliment in my book! 🙂
